Discover 29 Fresh Game Cards from Magic's TMNT Expansion (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-loving superheroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a exclusive panel hosted at NYCC. Is this a radical new set or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? Let you decide.

Take a look below at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including some useful background. Everything listed here releases on March 6, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before we get into the many special decks and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by the developers. Play boosters for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a few shell-shocking features. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which players can cheat powerful creatures into the game field whenever an attacker goes unblocked. The key change here is that this new ability can apply to non-creature spells as well. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the mechanic a little (Sneak is treated as casting, unlike the older mechanic). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are we'll see Sneak in upcoming expansions from now on.

Should we go back to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability because that's where it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” a senior designer stated. “But on other planes, because the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it's more likely that we'd use the updated version.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is among four special cards with unique artwork designed specifically for the set by TMNT original artist the co-creator.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing game cards outside of your deck, so was I. Yet as per the developers, it’s now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, here are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they were careful to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for 15 months and we knew it was going to be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “We designed to ensure that they work well with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red strategy focused on artifacts.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard deck,” he added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six different legendary cards who could work as your Commander based on how you pair them (five cards have a special Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that allows starting with two of them in the command area rather than just one). Check them out for yourself:

This Commander precon is set at $69.99, although the price may rise due to demand. Wizards indicated that it includes 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional thirty-seven Turtle-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown earlier. (Doing some rough math, this suggests about 20 reprints if we estimate the precon comes with 37 lands.)

How will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is offering a collection. This one costs $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • Fifteen Traditional foil basic lands
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • One Traditional foil promotional card
  • One Large life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Each pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Foil pizza basic lands
  • Two Traditional foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed art. Wizards showed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos available.

This special bundle releases a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Play Boosters (the perfect amount four people to play draft)
  • One Collector Booster (aka, the prize for winning)
  • Ninety Regular land cards (to build your deck)
  • 10 Regular double-sided tokens
  • 1 drafting guide (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic products aimed at beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend team up against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The general idea here that every Boss card grants special abilities to the creature cards contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
